A noisy walk – Saturday 2nd November 2024

A noisy walk

Penny and I had a noisy walk at the Stratford Greenway yesterday. To be fair, only one of us was really noisy the other one was much quieter. Sadly, Mum forgot to take any photos, but that was partly because she was nursing a bleeding finger after I got a bit carried away. It’s not what you think – I didn’t cause the harm directly.

Anyway, when we arrived Penny and I were really pleased to see each other and I was delighted to see Penny’s human too. Penny rolled over on her back in front of me, which got us off to a good start.

Other dogs

I’m still having some issue being around other dogs. That’s when I’m noisy. I still find it quite stressful with not feeling as strong and confident as I used to be. Mum says I shouldn’t worry so much, but it’s hard when you feel vulnerable. That meant it was me doing the barking every time we passed another dog. On the bright side, I’m find around strange people now, so that is an improvement.

Mum’s bleeding finger came from my lunging when she wasn’t expecting and her own finger nail going into the next finger. So it was my fault, but she really should cut her finger nails shorter. I keep my claws trimmed to avoid injury, you would think she could see the parallel.

Lovely autumn walk

It was a lovely dry autumn walk with lots of leaves for us to kick. We’d forgotten that it was still the half term holiday and there were lots of people around too. Just for the record I didn’t scare any children, which I was quite proud of.

By the end of the walk I was limping a little but otherwise fine. Twice yesterday I was asked where I got my steps for the car from. They are so good that it was fun to show them off.

Once I arrived home, I was more than happy to have a long leisurely nap.
