Lovely weekend – Monday 2nd December 2024

Lovely weekend

I had a lovely weekend with my human older brother and his fiancé. Mum knew I was going to enjoy myself when I didn’t bark at them. I had so much fuss and cuddles, it was amazing. We reminisced about Alfie, Shadow and Aristotle, trips to Switzerland, where we used to live – and so much more. He’d already left home when I came on the scene, but we’ve spent enough time over the years to have plenty of shared family memories. Shadow was originally his dog. He took her to all her training and took her through her breeding test in Switzerland. He was only ten years old when Alfie moved to live with Mum and Dad, so he’s been around our breed most of his life.

If things go to plan, my other human brother and my human sister will be coming later in the month, so I can see them too.

A surprise

I also had a lovely surprise when Mum turned the calendar onto December yesterday. The picture is one of Shadow. It was her last entry in our Club photo competition before she died. Then all our Club members vote on the photos and the winning entries go to make up the following year’s calendar. Even though it’s now been two years since Shadow crossed the Rainbow Bridge, the photo was taken in the months just before that and so entered for last year’s competition. It is going to be nice being able to see her smiling down on us during December.

Busy week

It’s a busy week this week, both for our building work and life in general. I think I’m staying at home tomorrow when Mum goes up to see Pebbles, but I’m not sure. I wish I was out this morning as there are some men drilling holes in the wall near our office later and it’s going to be very noisy.

Love

Wilma
