Trampolining Puppy – Monday 13th January 2025

Trampolining puppy

We have a trampolining puppy – or at least we very nearly had. I take my hat off to Pebbles. She has outdone us all with her escape ideas. I could open a locked crate in 3 seconds flat, but I never tried trampolining as a means of escape. Mum has realised that the quickest way to get Pebbles to focus on the idea of pooing is for her to be in the outside pen while Mum is not in with her. Yesterday morning that nearly went very badly wrong.

Fortunately Mum was close to the pen and watching Pebbles. The big orange ball that Pebbles enjoys chasing around the pen was next to the fence. It has gone slightly soft with the changes in air temperature and needs pumping up. Mum watched as Pebbles ran over to it and gracefully launched herself onto it in an attempt to bounce over the side of the meter high fence.

Surprisingly fast

It turns out that Mum can move surprisingly fast when she needs to. Firstly she went to make sure that Pebbles didn’t rocket out of the pen and land the other side. If she’d done that she could have been very badly hurt. Then in a flash Mum went into the pen and removed the orange ball. Now it will only be used when Mum is in the pen with pebbles.

Keeping a puppy safe really is a very difficult job.

Pet shop

The rest of the day was quite tame. We all had an outing to the pet shop. Pebbles chose a new duck toy, which she’s very pleased with. I chose some chews that were big enough for me to enjoy and not feel so left out. Pebbles also chose some training treats and she loves them – maybe a little too much! At least Pebbles only cried a little of the way there, which I’m hoping is good news as we have longer in the car today.

Our swing

Mum spent part of the afternoon assembling our new swing. She wants to put something like slabs under the feet so they don’t sink into the ground. We aren’t allowed to try it out until she’s done all that. With our garden being so wet there is a real risk of it sinking altogether if she doesn’t do that. She won’t have chance today but we’re hoping she’ll finish it for us on Tuesday.

Love and woofs
