Happier day
I had a happier day yesterday. Dad got home late on Friday night and I was just so pleased to see him. When there are two humans here it doesn’t feel as though Pebbles is the only one getting attention. Yesterday was so much more balanced. For some of the day Dad was with Pebbles which meant I could mooch about with Mum doing what we do when we mooch. It was minus six outside for rather more of the day than was reasonable, so I preferred to mooch indoors, but I did spend some time keeping Mum company with outside chores. Poor Mum spent a lot of time outdoors with Pebbles too.
Her own dog
Pebbles is most certainly her own dog. Mum laughs that however many of us she has had in her life we are all different. But then, you wouldn’t expect two people to be the same, so why expect it of dogs. We all learn differently and we all have our own little personalities. Pebbles is a carrier – she has to have something in her mouth at almost all times. If it isn’t something she’s supposed to have then it will be something she shouldn’t have. Mum began by stopping her grabbing at her lead, but then realised her carrying part of her lead was better than Mum’s trouser leg or jumper. Now Mum has found a chew that Pebbles likes to carry and it keeps her mouth occupied. This might just save Mum’s clothes from complete ruin.

Other differences
Pebbles is very much slower at her toilet training than any of the rest of us have been. Sometimes she’s doing really well and sometimes it’s as though we are right back at square one. It’s driving Mum crazy. She’s even set up a chart of exactly what Pebbles is doing well to try to understand the pattern. There isn’t a pattern! It’s just going to take a huge amount of patience and disinfectant.
Love and woofs
