Finding lost things – Monday 18th February 2025

Finding lost things

We’ve spent the weekend finding lost things. Finally almost all our things have come out of storage. Mum thought she’d misremembered how many puppy toys she had, but it simply turned out that there was a whole basket of them at the back of the storage unit. Now Pebbles is trying to decide which ones she would like to use. Mum says she can’t have them all at once, but can have a few at a time. That way when old ones have to be thrown out there are some to replace them.

Beds

I’ve been checking the other dog beds off my list too. I knew I was some missing, so I’m really pleased to see them coming back. There is still the big one which will go in Mum’s office, but that is waiting for my crate to move to the utility. My crate can only move when Dad finishes emptying, or at least moving, his boxes of things that are in the recess for my crate. Mum says if all goes to plan that will all be sorted this week.

It really feels like the end of the upheaval is in sight and we might be getting to the end of all the changes. It’s weird wondering what normal life post-building work will be like. Pre-building work there was me and Aristotle and we rubbed along quite well. Now it will be me and Pebbles and I just can’t get my head around that.

Gardening

Mum says she’s fallen behind with the gardening and is going to need our help. None of us has felt much like it in the cold dank weather we’ve been having. I suggested I could shout encouragement from indoors, but that wasn’t the sort of help she had in mind. It’s nearly time for Pebbles to explore more of the garden on her own, but Mum is still concerned with the pond and other risks. I suspect if she falls in the water once Pebbles will learn very quickly.

Love and woofs
