And so it starts

And so it starts. Mum has decided that it’s time for Pebbles to have free running in the garden when it’s light. She has also decided that on some of those occasions I will join Pebbles. Yesterday as both Mum and Dad were here we all went out to make a start on the plan. I think you can see quite clearly from the photos – this is not my plan and it is not my idea of what is fun.

Whilst she was outside with me, we both had our harnesses on in case Mum and Dad had to grab hold of us. As it turned out, Pebbles decided it meant she could grab hold of me. Again, not in my plan.

In the end I had to appeal to Mum and say I’d really had enough. I’d been very good and gave Pebbles warnings without actually doing anything that would hurt her. I won’t tell you what I was plotting in my head. Quite honestly the whole thing wore me out for the rest of the day.

Pebbles investigates

Pebbles has time outside without me as well. She loves it. While she’s running free it does mean constant supervision from Mum, so it won’t work while we’re trying to do any gardening. Mum has also said that when Pebbles needs to go out in the dark it will still need to be on lead. There really would be no fun in trying to get her to come back from some far distant corner of the garden in the pitch dark.

So far, she has not gone very near to the pond. We know it’s going to happen sooner or later, but Mum is happy for it to be later – preferably very much later.

Now we just need to teach Pebbles what she should and shouldn’t do and get her to start ignoring me when I’m out there and we might just be able to start having a more normal life.

Love and woofs
