Growing Day – Tuesday 29th April 2025

Growing day

I think I was having a growing day yesterday. It was weird. Mum said it was either that or I’m growing up. There were actually times during the day when I chilled out and fell asleep on the kitchen floor and let Mum work. How weird is that? Ok, so it didn’t make me do as I was told when I was awake, but Mum seemed grateful for the opportunity to get some computer work done. Mum got so engrossed in what she was doing she lost track of time – apparently that made me a good girl, but I don’t really see why.

Vito’s game

We’re still playing Vito’s game every day. What is that about? It seems to keep Mum entertained, but to be honest I get bored pretty quickly. After a few goes I can’t be bothered to go around the bin to get to the bowl. I guess if Mum offered me something more interesting as rewards or if I was more hungry there might be more incentive, but to be honest I can take it or leave it.

We’ve got training class this morning, so I’m hoping that’s going to mean much higher value treats are on offer to encourage me to make the right choices. They’ll work for five minutes, but I can wait until lunch to eat if I have to.

Wilma

Wilma will be back at the specialist tomorrow. We’ve all got our paws crossed for some good news for her. Most importantly, Wilma hopes the operation she had has worked and saved her eye. Secondly, Wilma is desperately hoping she can stop wearing a cone and having to be on crate rest. Next to that she really doesn’t want to have to be on so many eye drops anymore and is hoping her tear rate might have improved. She’s also hoping she can see well enough to take her diary back. I’m ok with that. I don’t think I’m really cut out to work.
