A good day for Pebbles
Yesterday was a good day for Pebbles. Mum took her for a walk in the morning and after just a little bit of over-excitement she settled down and was quite a good girl. Then they went to their training class and… Ok, so she didn’t do all of the exercises quite as she should. And there might have been one point she escaped and ran across the field to see some of her friends when she shouldn’t have. But the point was that she concentrated for more of the lesson than has been the case until now. Then on their afternoon walk, Mum said it was like someone had swapped our dog for a normal one. They had a lovely walk and Pebbles didn’t get over-excited once.
Not so good
One thing that Mum says is not so good is that Pebbles has worked out how to slip out of her harness. If she lies flat and puts her arms out in front of her and then wriggles backwards, apparently it’s easy. Mum is having to use what she and I call ‘city setting’ where she clips one end of the lead to my collar and one to my harness. In my case when we do that I know we are in a traffic situation and need to stay very close to Mum. In Pebbles case, it’s simply because she’s a flight risk! She’s going to need a better harness. Mum is planning to get her one like mine – a Grossenbacher from Switzerland. However, we wanted to wait for Pebbles to stop growing first and that isn’t going to be for a while.
Treat selection
The bribery Mum now carries for Pebbles ranges from her regular food, to basic dry biscuits, dog pate, dried liver, cheese, sprats and on to sardines. They all come in handy. Overall, it seems Pebbles is very keen on fish, but when they are training, Mum starts on the lowest value and works her way up from there. I just get the dry biscuits – unless no ones’s looking!

Dear Rosemary, Beija has had also this problem to get out of the harness. Then we had a special one from Beat Grossenbacher and this has worked. I will make a foto of it and send it to you. With this harness Beija could never gonne out of it.
Have a nice day All our love to you, Chris and many cuddles for Wilma and Pebbles
Oh thank you. That would be very helpful.
