Too hot
I know it’s only May, but yesterday was just too hot. Even Pebbles didn’t want to spend the whole day outside playing and kept flopping down in the shade. In the end we all voted for some indoor time to get out of the strong sunlight. Pebbles was in a boisterous mood, but thankfully she took some of that out on her ostrich bone. She’s also really funny with all her bedding. Mum keeps putting things back in Pebbles’ crate and Pebbles gets it all out again – all of it – blanket, bedding, toys, the lot. If Mum closes the door of the crate then Pebbles ends up dragging the whole crate round as she tries to pull things through the gaps. Mum can either shut the utility door so she can’t go in there, or just deal with it – she’s going for the latter.
Mind you, Pebbles has started bringing other items out of the utility, including Mum’s walking socks, which is not going down well.
Early walks
Today is going to be just as warm as yesterday. Mum is planning early walks so Pebbles gets some good exercise before the day gets too warm. It’s interesting, she seems to feel the heat more than I do and ends up having to drink quite a lot. Mum is having to think about taking water with her, even on a short walk. It’s something she hasn’t needed to do since we had Megan. We still have Megan’s cool coat, but it would be way too big for Pebbles at the moment.
Fish and only fish
Pebbles doesn’t seem interested much in food unless it is fishy. On a walk, she will only accept sprats as a treat for walking nicely. For training at home, apart from cheese, Mum only gets any sort of response if she’s offering some form of fish. On the bright side, it does mean I’ll get the choice of all the other treats Mum has tried with Pebbles but which Pebbles has rejected.
