New Harness – Friday 10th October 2025

New harness

Pebbles looks very smart in her new harness. Of course, she would have preferred a pretty colour, but she would have had to go with Mum to be measured and have it specially made for that. The ones in the shop only came in black, so black it is. Mum is very pleased with how it fits Pebbles and said it did give her more confidence on a walk that there was no way for Pebbles to escape.

Mum was pleased she only let Pebbles wear it for her walk though, because Pebbles decided to wipe herself down the side of the newly painted shed later in the morning. Thankfully by then she was back in her old one.

Apples

Our orchard looks spectacular this year with apples being really plentiful. They are very red too and I can vouch for how tasty the eating apples are. Both Pebbles and I have been helping ourselves at every opportunity. Mind you, so has Dad so we are in good company. Mum had carefully filled a drawer of the fridge with the best of the eating apples and Dad will be turning as many of the cooking apples as possible into stewed apple and freezing it for the winter.

Help yourself

Talking of ‘help yourself’, Pebbles is trying to take the same approach with treats. She is very confident on her back legs so she can stick her nose into the pouches of treats that Mum wear around her waist. If anything, she’s better on her back legs than Aristotle was and that’s saying something. Mum thinks that Pebbles is the strongest dog she’s ever lived with. That makes it all the more important to work on her training. Thankfully, while Pebbles is still utterly bonkers, she is showing a desire to please Mum, which is something.

Sadly that doesn’t extend to stopping digging. Once again all the holes Mum so carefully filled in have been dug back up by Pebbles. She’s a fast worker!
