The Ducks
Mum is working very hard to encourage the ducks to come back. One of the problems has been how overgrown parts of the pond are. It’s more that the reed bed was taking over than they it overgrown in a bad way. Anyway, this year’s annual pond maintenance has included the removal of a large amount of the weeds. That will make it much easier for the ducks to have a really good swim. That’s the up side.
The down side is that it was the area that Pebbles used most often to climb down to the pond in gentle steps. We’re all waiting for her to run into the reeds and find they aren’t there. When that happens there will be a very big splash. The roots of the reeds were over a foot deep, so now Pebbles will find herself up to her neck whereas before she was at surface level.
My hydrotherapy
My hydrotherapy was a very quiet affair yesterday. Usually, I’m the one making the noise. Oddly, from the point at which we left the house to the point we came home, Mum didn’t hear a murmur out of me. Even I don’t know why that was. I think maybe the fact it was such a lovely warm sunny day helped. There is nothing like the feeling of sun on your fur in November.
We’re on an amber weather warning with a lot of rain expected today, so maybe I’ll be a bit more noisy again. I’m certainly planning to stay indoors. I suspect Mum is going to have some difficulty convincing me to go out even when I need the toilet if the weather is as bad as the forecast. Mum is supposed to be going to see Granny, but that may not be a good idea if the weather is very bad.
