Gone Paddling

Pebbles has gone paddling. She got a bit of a surprise after all the rain. Recently she has been running in and out of the rose bushes between the path and the grass. When she did that yesterday she was up to her knees in water. Our garden is back to having its very own water course. When it was there before, Pebbles didn’t have free run of the garden so she’s just not used to it. I’m guessing she’s going to be investigating all the other parts of the garden which flood too. Given how much she likes mud, this could be a very dirty pastime.

Reluctant helpers

Today Dad and I are being reluctant helpers in the garden. We’re starting at lunchtime and Mum has given us a list of the jobs we’ll be doing. To be fair, it isn’t too long a list and most of them I can only offer encouragement. One of our big climbing roses has made a bid for freedom in the storm we had. Mum says it might be best to be ruthless and cut it back quite hard. I think tying up the weight of what has come down may just be too difficult.

Daddy’s girl

Pebbles is such a daddy’s girl. She is so enjoying having him around and can’t wait for him to retire. She spends a lot of time trying to give him cuddles, even if he’s in the middle of doing something else. To be fair, he’s really enjoying it too. I guess it helps to make up for when I didn’t really recognise him when he came home. I think we’ve sorted ourselves out now, but it took me a couple of days. Having Pebbles jumping all over him reminds Dad of when I was younger.
