Different definitions
Mum and I clearly have different definitions of what a rest day is. I’ve discussed it with Dad and he agrees with me. Mum discussed it with Pebbles and it seems they are on the same page too. To me, a rest day means sitting somewhere quiet and shady with my paws up, watching the world go by and doing absolutely nothing about it.
Pebbles seems to think that a rest day is one that you only run around at 150 miles an hour instead of 200. While they were busy weeding, cutting the grass edges and trimming back overgrown areas of the garden, I did nothing. It turns out everyone was happy with that arrangement.
Vet check up
Pebbles had to go for a vet check up. There’s nothing wrong. She is in the enviable position of not having seen the vet for so long that she needed a check up so they would carry on providing her medication. I kid you now, when Pebbles went in she threw her arms around the vet’s waist and gave him a big hug. It really is hard not to think she’s adorable. Of course, once she’d accidentally head-butted him a few times and done laps of the office, he may have seen her true colours.
Mum did ask him about the fact that Pebbles has not now had a season for 50 weeks. He has no idea why either. No action is required. Pebbles is perfectly healthy. We just need to wait to see what happens.
Maple syrup is off
The maple syrup idea is off the list. Apparently Sugar Maples, which are the type of tree you need, grow to around 150 feet tall. As Mum wants something that grows to no more than 30 feet, they don’t really fit the bill. She is still looking at maples but will find some which are more modest in size.
