I love this place

Oh how I love this place. Mum thought I’d been to Belgium before, but when she came to work out how long it is since she was last here, she realised I was right when I said it was all new to me.

Our day started yesterday with a walk from where we’re staying. Mum followed a cycle route and came to a lovely tree lined lane that was only for walkers and cyclists. It was perfect. She explained it was very like where she and Alfie used to walk. It made me begin to realise why he always said he’d had such an amazing puppyhood in Belgium.

Mum likes looking at all the different styles of houses here too. They’re quite different to the ones in England and I can see why she finds them interesting.

Old stomping ground

After a quiet morning, we went over to Alfie’s old stomping ground in the afternoon. We visited Mum, Dad and Alfie’s old next door neighbours, although they now live in a different house just around the corner. Then we all went for a walk and along one of the walks that Alfie used to take Mum on. I can’t tell you how special it was to be sniffing in the places I knew he’s sniffed as a puppy. I am one happy dog being here.

The lane came out at the back of the house they lived in and two French bulldogs came running to the fence to shout at me. I didn’t say a word, which even Mum found surprising. I didn’t feel the need to argue. No, I just held my head high and walked past them thinking of Alfie.

Today’s plan

Today I’m off to spend the day with a Corgi in the Netherlands, but I’ll explain all about that tomorrow.

Have fun

Love

Wilma
