Relay race
Today I’m going on a dog relay race. I have no idea what it involves. I’m going with my sister Valeria and our friend Megan. Valeria has been before so I’m really hoping she’s going to tell me what I have to do. It will be really good to spend the morning outdoors after having so much time in the car over the last couple of days.
Yesterday was a very long day. We had to drive 420 miles. Mum had had enough by the time we arrived too. It didn’t help that there was a problem on the motorway in Switzerland and we were diverted on some smaller roads that added about half an hour to the journey.
Morgarten
We are staying in Morgarten. It is on our old lake – Aegerisee. It was lovely to see some of our favourite places as we arrived and feel like we were coming home. Mum arranged with the hotel for us to have a ground floor room with a door out to the garden. That saves me having to walk through the hotel, which is good. It wouldn’t have mattered much as we are about the only ones in the hotel anyway. We can see the lake from our room. In summer that would be good, but it was too dark to see much last night and we’ll be out for a lot of today.
Plans for the week
I don’t know what the plans for the week are yet. Of course, we will spend some time on my mountain. We can’t come and not do that. And I’m going to see my sister Tosca next weekend. She’s recovering from an operation at the moment, so it will be nice to go and try to cheer her up.
