My scan results
Well I now have my scan results. I was really anxious when Mum took me in yesterday and not just because I hadn’t eaten! Fortunately there weren’t too many people or dogs about, but I did have a bit of a bark in the waiting room. Mum weighed me and I’m 24.8kg, which we’re both happy with. Then the nurse checked me in and asked me some questions. What time did I last eat? – too long ago. Had I had my morning medication? – all the important ones – You know the sort of thing. The nurse then headed to the door into the back of the vet practice and Mum headed for the door to reception. Of course, I tried to follow Mum.
Left behind
That was when the reality of being left behind to wait for my scan finally set in. Thankfully, I didn’t have to wait long. My lovely vet looked after me and even told Mum what a good girl I’d been. She rang Mum with a full report before I was allowed home.
Let’s start with the good news. I do not have any visible tumours. Mum and I are so very happy about that. That was the one thing we didn’t know if we could deal with. The less good news relates to my heart. It isn’t doing some of the work it’s supposed to do at quite the right rate. My vet doesn’t want to put me on heart medication immediately, but she does want to test me again in three months. It could mean I have some drops in my blood pressure. That may well be the cause of my intermittent pale gums.
Mum has to monitor to make sure I don’t have any more serious symptoms and if I do I have to go back immediately.
Now I just have to continue with my new supplement to see if it helps with my possible dementia symptoms. Paws crossed.
Love and licks
