Not allowed on the bed – Thursday 3rd July 2025

Not allowed on the bed

I am not allowed on the bed. I need to keep repeating that to myself as I’m never going to remember. You see, I always go on the bed. Many years ago, Mum and Dad said that dogs would not go on the bed. Then when he was about five months old, Alfie decided that was a silly rule and got around Mum very effectively. Since then, we’ve always gone on the bed when we want to. So what has changed? Mum has bought some new sheets. It’s not the sort of thing she does very often. She buys bedding for us more often than she does for her and Dad. Anyway, she is now the proud owner of some pretty pink stripy bedding and for some reason says she wants chance to enjoy them before they are covered in my coat. Hopefully, she’ll get over it fairly quickly.

The bunting

The bunting has not arrived. It’s best not to mention it to Mum at the moment as she’s a little fed up. Today she needs to find out where it is. The delivery company say there is a query on the address, but we’re definitely here and it’s definitely right. Mum thinks it’s a deliverer who isn’t used to house names instead of numbers and assumes it’s wrong without checking. We haven’t lived at a house with a number for – well, I haven’t since I was a tiny puppy and Mum hasn’t since she and Dad first had Alfie in Belgium. It does seem to confuse people though.

Sunflowers

I am delighted to say we now have a number of sunflowers out. I need to take a photo. Mum is almost as excited about her first tomato of the season – I think the whole season will be about five tomatoes, but the first is always special.

Love and licks
