This may be a start
It’s early days but this may be a start. Pebbles had a good day yesterday. I may be being an optimist, but we’re willing to claim any win at the moment.
At one point when Mum was outside and Pebbles came and sat at her feet for a cuddle. Not once while Mum was reaching down to her did Pebbles jump up and try to knock Mum out. Ok, so she still body slammed Mum a few moments later, but you have to take the wins.
Later when they went for a walk Pebbles still needed Mum to play ‘find it’ to keep her entertained, but there was a moment when a car went past and Pebbles didn’t react in a weird way. Again, we’re celebrating any little win.
Changeable weather
One problems Pebbles is now facing is the changeable weather. For me, it’s not so much an issue. I can sit inside and watch the rain come down. Then I just say to Mum, ‘ I’m good. I’ll go out later.” It is so much harder for Pebbles. Because she prefers to be outside, the heavy showers are more of an issue – for Mum rather than Pebbles. Pebbles has the good sense to go into her little kennel, but Mum doesn’t like to leave her out in bad weather so rushes to bring her in. To be fair, yesterday it was about to thunder, so Mum may have had a point. It results in Pebbles having a game of tug with the towel and Mum standing there dripping wet.
Mum is hoping the answer lies in the medication helping Pebbles to relax indoors. I’ve suggested buying her a bigger kennel so she’s better provided for outside. We don’t really know what Pebbles would prefer.
