The things people say
I know I’m only a dog, but I listen to the things people say and sometimes I really don’t understand. I don’t mean I don’t understand the words – of course I do. It’s why they say the things they do that make me wonder. Dad was ringing a company he has a pension with. At the end of the call the ‘young’ person on the end of the call told him to ‘take care’. It was Mum falling about laughing that made me think. A pension company isn’t going to make so much money if all the people who have money with them ‘take care’. It would mean they had to pay put pensions for longer. Anyway, I do my best to take care of Dad, so I’ve got it covered.
Collecting Pebbles
Tomorrow Mum will be collecting Pebbles. We could have collected her sooner, with having come back from holiday early, but there were good reasons not to. Me – I was the biggest good reason not to. I needed some time to see if I could settle back down now I’m home. Mum saw other reasons, like getting the garden back to being safe for Pebbles. Pebbles doesn’t seem to have been born with a great deal of common sense. When we came home there were a large number of mushrooms and toadstools around the garden and we had no idea if they were poisonous.
After the elastic swallowing incident, Mum didn’t want to take any chances. She’s been working hard at removing them all and cutting the very overgrown grass. We just have today to try to get things sorted and safe and then Mum will go to pick Pebbles up in the morning. It’s been very quiet around here without her. I guess we’d better prepare for chaos.
