Hydrotherapy
I went for my hydrotherapy yesterday. It really is the highlight of my week. It’s not in the main vet office, but in a garage in the car park. I know that sounds strange, but from my point of view it’s very good news as it means I don’t have to see other dogs. I wait in the car until it’s time to go in and then trot along quite happily. Going regularly means I’m used to the routine and I’m always with the same hydrotherapist, so it doesn’t cause me any stress at all. Mum encourages me with cheese too, so what could be better?
I had my Librella injection while I was there yesterday. Mum conned me by holding some cheese by my nose and before I knew it the injection was over. I got the cheese, so I’m not complaining.
BBC interview
We have to be on our best behaviour this afternoon as we have to talk to a BBC journalist about the new animal welfare legislation which also makes changes to the law on importing dogs. I think Pebbles and I aren’t supposed to be talking, but I do feel I should be heard. I was, after all, a dog imported to the UK when I was 17 weeks old, so I have personal experience of the issue. The new legislation will restrict imports to dogs over six months of age, but our Club has been working for a permit system to allow younger imports where dogs are needed to widen the gene pool of a breed. That’s what we’ll be talking about.
Making the most of Dad
Pebbles and I have been trying to make the most of our time with Dad too. He has to go away for work for a couple of weeks and we’re going to miss him. There isn’t enough of Mum to go around when he’s away. On the bright side, he’s retiring at the end of December, so we can spend much more time with him then. He’s still going to do some work, but he’ll be all ours the rest of the time. Cuddles with Dad are the best.
