A good workout – Wednesday 21st January 2026

A good workout

I had a good workout at my swimming lesson yesterday. At the start I was trying to keep at least one leg out of the water, but it was difficult. Then my hydrotherapist increased the level of the water which made it impossible to do that and harder work to keep moving. Actually, to be fair, I was having difficult remembering I was supposed to move unless Mum kept holding a treat in front of me and encouraging me to keep going. Without that I simply forget and drift backwards until I hit the back panel of glass in the tank.

I was panting a little bit, but that wasn’t from the exertion, just the whole not sure about the world thing. Mum was really pleased with me and after the morning she’d had with Pebbles I’m glad I cheered her up.

Pebbles’ training class

Pebbles’ training class had not gone so well. It was very cold and windy in the field they train in. Mum can’t wear gloves and handle Pebbles’ treats – and that’s quite apart from Pebbles wanting to bite the gloves. Anyway, Pebbles didn’t really want to do any of the exercises. She was excited to be back, but was rather all over the place. Then she jumped p and hit the trainer in the face. The trainer wasn’t even bending down at the time. She was all right, thankfully but did get a bit of a surprise.

By the time they came home, Mum said she had almost reached the point of saying they wouldn’t go again. However she knows how much Pebbles needs to go and even though it’s very hard work, they will be back there again next week.

Pebbles then jumped up and head-butted Mum in the face and Mum shared a few choice words with her.

Love and licks
