We didn’t go
As it turned out, we didn’t go to Fun Day yesterday. Mum wasn’t feeling very well at all when she got up yesterday. She asked Dad if he could possibly organise everything so she could go back to bed. I, of course, immediately offered to take care of her for the day and do my nursing duties. Pebbles said she’d stay with Mum to be her entertainer. One of those offers made Mum happy, one of them made her groan.
We had a very quiet day. Well, I did. Pebbles spent her time emptying the toy box and taking each of them to Mum to see if they would cheer her up. Mum quietly said to me that she wasn’t often cheered up by half-eaten antlers and threadbare squeaky snails.
A good day
Dad came home saying he’d missed us, but had still had a really good fun day seeing some of our friends. They had played games and done some scent work and training, which all the people and dogs who were there had enjoyed. Pebbles is going to have to save her skills in ‘biscuit catch’ for another day. I guess it gives her even more time to practice. Mum has immediately put the spare bags of dog treats from fun day in a cupboard Pebbles can’t reach so that she doesn’t try practising on her own. Pebbles is very good at getting her nose into bags of treats if she is given the opportunity.
Mum says she doesn’t want to do very much today either. We always planned for today to be a gardening day. She’s even got Dad on board with the idea of helping, but I don’t think very much is going to be happening. It’s a shame the weather isn’t nice enough to just sit outside.
