Pebbles is in hospital
Well Pebbles is in hospital so won’t be writing the diary today. I went to bed early on Monday night so missed all the action. I knew she’d been sick about 7pm, but she eats things so I didn’t think much of it. Apparently, Mum was concerned immediately because of the volume of sick. She said more should have passed through Pebbles stomach by then. Mum’s first thought was a blockage. Pebbles kept being sick even though her tummy was empty and by 10pm couldn’t keep water down. That was the point Mum called the vet.
X-ray
Step one was an x-ray, but of course with Pebbles not staying still that meant she had to be sedated. The vet rang Mum about 11.30 to say that she couldn’t see a blockage but Pebbles had started having bloody diarrhoea. Because she couldn’t keep water down they wanted to put her on a drip, but again that needed some sedation. Frankly, I’d have sedated Pebbles with or without a drip.
They have taken some blood tests to make sure it isn’t toxin related and all the values are ok apart from potassium. Pebbles is having some potassium in with her drip to help that.
Paws crossed
She is a very fit little girl, so we have our paws crossed she will make good progress. She will be in hospital until at least this afternoon and possibly until tomorrow. We’re waiting for a call from the vet for an update.
So far, I’m feeling ok. Obviously, the worry with a virus is that if one of us catches something then the other one gets it too. Unlike Pebbles, I’m not in my prime, so it wouldn’t be good news. Mum washed absolutely everything in sight in the hope it might help.

Mum and Dad are really missing Pebbles and worrying about her. Hopefully she will be back to her bouncy self before we know it.
Love and licks
