Centenary celebration
Today is the big centenary celebration of the Swiss breed club for our breed. It will be the biggest gathering of our breed there has ever been. Dogs and owners have travelled to Switzerland from all over the world. Dad will be there, but sadly the rest of us won’t. Wilma and I hadn’t planned to travel, but Mum had. She is feeling very sad to be missing everything, but says it was an easy decision to make as Wilma’s need of her was far greater.
Anyway, we all want to send our friends in Switzerland our congratulations and we hope they have a wonderful day today. Hopefully Dad will send us some photos and I can show you. A number of UK dogs have travelled and we hope they all have a wonderful time.
A quiet day
Thanks to her steroid medication, Wilma had a quiet day yesterday. Her steroids have helped to give her an appetite and unlike the day before she ate all her meals. Mum was delighted. It meant a more relaxed day than Mum has been able to have for a couple of weeks. What Mum is really hoping is that the medication can work long enough for Dad to come home to see Wilma again.
Mum did ask Wilma if she felt well enough to write the diary herself, but she said she didn’t. Maybe she will be able to write a little bit later.

An opportunity
Anyway, as things were a little calmer, I spotted an opportunity to negotiate. Obviously, if I have to write the diary I want a proper contract and proper wages. I’ve asked for my bedtime sardine ration to be doubled. Mum normally splits a tin of sardines between 12 little pots and I get one a day. I said I wouldn’t write another word unless that was reduced to a tin every six days. I also wanted my own login for the diary and my own email address. In retrospect, I should have asked for more as Mum agreed much too readily to all my terms.
We had to negotiate on one point. Wilma’s email address uses the diary’s web address. Now, I know that I really ought to have accepted the blog address for my email, but I don’t want to be defined by what Alfie set up. Mum’s negotiating position wasn’t a strong one. She needed me to help. I’m pleased to say that if you want to email me then I’m pebbles@oneandonly.me.uk Somehow it seemed more appropriate.
