Mickey and Minnie
Mickey and Minnie seem to have moved in for the winter. Mum is calling the situation ‘Disneygate’ and is now trying to resolve the situation. I have offered to help, but Mum thinks I may be more of a hindrance.
Mum has diligently checked our loft every week for signs of mouse activity. There was evidence they had used it in the past as somewhere to nest in the winter. So far all has been clear. However, it seems she was looking in the wrong place. Mum opened a kitchen drawer and found evidence that Mickey and Minnie had visited. Fortunately, it’s not a food drawer, which Mum says is good news.
Pots and pans
Mum has taken all the pots and pans and piled them on the table in the dining room. Now she’s trying to catch Mickey and Minnie before they head off to nest in the walls or the loft and chew their way through anything that matters. My food is well out of the way, so that’s good news. Mum says she is more concerned about damage to cables as there are a lot around where they have come in.
Best approach
Originally, Mum thought leaving the drawer slightly open so the mouse trap was behind it would be best. Then she worked out that it also meant Mickey and Minnie would have access to the kitchen itself, which didn’t seem like such a good idea. There was also the problem that we kept accidentally closing the drawer and triggering the trap. That’s when Dad suggested putting the trap in the drawer itself. Now we just have to wait to see what happens next. My guess is that they have already moved upstairs and Mum is too late.
