New Year 2023
A very happy New Year 2023 from me and all my pack.
There seems to be something fitting about the year starting on a Sunday – the first day of the week and a day of rest as well. It seems a good day to reflect and contemplate what we hope to do with the year ahead. It is as yet unspoilt, like a blanket of snow ready for us to make pawprints in. The question is, do we want to run around in circles, simply leaving a random pattern? It would be a joyous pattern, but when we come back to look at it later it will be no more than pawprints. Or, do we want our pawprints to leave a pattern, a message, a thing of beauty that goes beyond the fun we had leaving them in the snow?
Choices
Ahead of us lie 365 days of 2023 on which we can leave our pawprints. Each day is an opportunity. Each day will involve choices. I’m not making resolutions in the same way this year. I’m not going to plan to lose weight and then shrug on the fifteenth of January when it hasn’t happened. This year I’m planning to wake up each morning and set out to be the best dog I can be. The best friend, pack leader and faithful pet that I can possible be. I may not get it right every time, but every day I have a new opportunity to be that dog – my best self.
Not every day is easy to smile and put others first, but that doesn’t mean I shouldn’t try. For the year ahead I plan to give a little more and take a little less. In doing so I hope I can bring a little bit of happiness to the world around me.
Have a wonderful New Year and may it be filled with knowing you are valued and that the things you say and do can make a difference too.
Love
Wilma
