Home and happy

We’re all home and happy. Ari didn’t get back until past his bedtime yesterday. Dad had stopped off to see friends on route. It meant by the time they arrived Ari just wanted to go to bed. He finds travel tiring and it’s always tiring when you have been out of your routine for a while. I wanted a bit of a bounce around in greeting, but he said that would have to wait until he’d had a good sleep. It’s easy to forget that he’s nearly eleven and a half, so around eighty in human years. I still think of him as my playmate. Mind you, I guess I forget how old I am too.

My day with Mum

My day with Mum had been a very quiet one. To be honest I don’t think I like the idea of ever being an only dog. I’m just too used to being part of a pack. Life is very quiet when it’s just me. I did help Mum starting to plan our home improvements programme. To be honest I found it all a bit scary. I think every room is going to be affected in one way or another. I’ll say one thing for Mum, she never does things by halves. I don’t think Ari and I are going to appreciate the level of disruption involved. Mum has said she’s looked at all the options and we’re just going to have to cope. However…

Moving outdoors

Part of the plan is for a cabin in the garden so we can be out of the way while the builders are here. Mum has been outside with Dad to work out where we could put some temporary fencing so that we can have some freedom to be running around outdoors, but without causing mayhem. You really would think she didn’t trust us. The cabin we’ll work from will of course also cause disruption, but that should be quite quick compared to everything else that will be going on.

I did suggest that Mum and I could go to Switzerland for the whole time, but she says she will need to be here to manage things. She can be such a spoilsport.
