Signing out – Monday 13th February 2023

Signing out

I think I’m signing out again today. That is as long as Wilma gets on ok at the vet and can go back to work. It’s not that I don’t like writing the diary. But you do have to remember that in human years I’m nearly 80. I know I don’t look that old and still think of myself as a puppy, but that probably goes for all of us as we age. I’ll still be around, but if I don’t have to do Wilma’s work it will give me more time in the garden, which to be honest is where I’m happiest.

Working hard

As you can see, Mum and I have been working very hard at filling the vegetable troughs with compost. This is definitely the point at which was wished we’d bought much smaller vegetable beds and hadn’t been as ambitious about the work we could take on. Thankfully, we seem to have quite a lot of compost, so we should be able to fill them – eventually.

Mum says we’re going to use the one we’ve emptied to move some of the other compost into to turn it over. That all sounds too much like hard work to me. I might just find a quiet spot to watch from.

Swimming

It’s going to be a busy afternoon if Mum is going to fit everything in. Wilma’s at the vet, then it will be lunch and Mum will have to take Wilma for a walk straight afterwards if she’s going to be back in time for my swimming lesson. Mum says I shouldn’t worry as Wilma will not be going too far on her first day out. She’s promised they will be back in time to take me. I shall be ready and waiting with my little towel and dressing gown.
