Tarn Hows Again
We went to Tarn Hows again yesterday. When we’d gone a few days ago there wasn’t enough time to do the walk around the tarn so that was the plan for yesterday. I’m so glad we waited as it was a beautiful day with blue skies, which made a change from rain. It isn’t a very long walk, only about 1.5 miles (around 2.5km). When you read how long it takes they say about an hour and a half, but you only need that long to have time to enjoy the view.
As it was our last day I took the opportunity to go into the water up to my knees and have a good drink. There is something very special about being able to drink such clean water while actually standing in it.
Long drive home
After that it was the long drive home to see how Aristotle had been doing without us. He said he’s had a lovely holiday too although he did miss us a little. He couldn’t have managed all the walks which is a shame, but he’s happy. Ari couldn’t wait to show Mum how his tomato seedlings are doing and what else has come through. The grass needs cutting again, but he didn’t feel confident enough to get the mower out while we were away.
Back to Work
Mum and Dad are back to work today, so life will return to its humdrum normal. It’s a shame as I was really enjoying so much outdoor time. Mum said that we have reached the time of year when we can start to have the door open and spend some time outdoors while she’s working, so maybe it won’t be so bad. I shall take her out for a walk later to one of our usual haunts.
