Unwinding – Saturday 2nd December 2023

Unwinding

I’m going to spend the weekend unwinding. I’ll be honest, I’m not coping so well with the builders around. What finished me off was meeting one of them in the hall on Thursday. Having him in my space just felt too much. Mum is concerned that I am becoming too reactive around people and dogs. She thinks I need to calm down a bit. I’ve gone back onto the herbal tablets I use sometimes when I’m travelling to see if they will help. What I really need is a good run and to just being able to enjoy my home without worrying.

Starting point

Our unwinding starting point was for Mum, Dad and me to go to the woods for a lovely walk after the builders finished yesterday. It was lovely. A bit muddy, but cold and sunny. The cold had meant the brick layers couldn’t work yesterday too, so there were fewer people around, which I thought was good but Mum was less pleased about.

Today I’m supposed to be being quiet at the moment as everyone else wants a lie-in. Mum got up to take us out and feed us and then said she was going back to bed and I wasn’t to disturb her for a while. You know how hard that is, right? As soon as someone says not to disturb them, you think of a whole load of things to ask them that just can’t wait.

Christmas lights

Ari is getting cross that Mum hasn’t helped him putting up the Christmas lights around the garden, so she’s promised they can do at least some of that today.

Other than that, and a walk somewhere, I think it will be a very quiet day – just the way I like it. I might even help Ari with the lights.

Love

Wilma
