The stream is back – Wednesday 29th May 2024

The stream is back

Well, the stream is back in the garden. Mum says she doesn’t think it ever really went away. There was certainly still areas where if I ran I found myself up to my knees in mud. Don’t tell Mum but I thought that was a bonus. Now, you can follow the whole path of the stream from the top of the orchard and down the rest of the garden. Mum thinks she needs to talk to our neighbours about what we can do about it.

She’d like to turn it into a proper stream, but if she does that she needs to make sure that it goes somewhere it can drain away as not everyone wants a stream. She’s even picturing a little bridge over it, which does sound quite fun. On the plus side, if we do that then I, and any other dogs, will have a free pass for digging for a while.

Making my new bed

Mum has started to make my new bed. When I say started, it is at the theoretical stage at the moment. So far, she has drawn what she needs to do on a piece of paper. She’s even worked out how big each piece needs to be and which way round it needs to be cut on the material. What she has not yet done is cut any of it out or started sewing. I don’t want to discourage her, it’s important progress. However…

I just have one tiny worry. Now I’ve seen what colour the walls of the garden room are going to be, I’m not sure we’ve chosen the right colour material. It’s probably too late to change my mind, so I’ll keep that thought to myself. To be honest, when I’m napping. The colour will be the least of my concerns.
