Staple Free – Friday 5th July 2024

Staple free

My back is finally staple free. I was barking so much at the world and everything in it, that we waited outside for my appointment. Then the nurse came out and removed my staple outside too, to save me going in at all. It felt a bit weird not being in the consulting room, especially when another dog arrived to check in.

On the downside, because I was feeling quite a bit better I wanted to jump in and out of the car instead of using the ramp. Mum really got very cross with me. She told me that I mean everything to her and if anything happened to me and we couldn’t make me better then it would be the worst thing in the world. I guess when you look at it like that I should be a little more patient with my recovery.

Peregrine Falcons

I’ve told you about the number of pigeons we are losing in the garden. Well Mum has a theory. We’ve been trying to work out what has been helping themselves to our pigeons.

In Warwick there are Peregrine Falcons which nest on the town hall. Mum looked up how far they cover in choosing their prey and we are well within the range of their territory. She has thought there was a bird of prey involved, but now she is wondering if the falcons might be responsible. We have lost several of our pigeons in the last few weeks and it’s getting a little sad. Mind you, another one is building a nest in the garden bar so they haven’t all disappeared.

Mum is going to have to get the step ladder out again to remove all the twigs. I think it’s going to be a constant battle. I also think that if Mum and Dad ever consider trying the heater, they should have a fire extinguisher handy – just in case!
