A little unexpected
Well that was a little unexpected. I’m going to the vet today. Mum was looking at my back yesterday and giving it quite a close inspection. “Wilma,” she said. “Does this bit feel uncomfortable?” She was pointing to the top end of my scar rather than touching it. I shrugged. It’s not especially that bit that feels odd. Anyway, to cut a long story short, Mum had noticed that one of my staples hasn’t been taken out and there is still a silvery bit holding my back together. Thankfully, there’s only the one, but I’m going to see the nurse today to have it removed.
A more normal walk
Yesterday I had my second walk. It felt more normal than the day before. We still only went out for about ten minutes, but I felt a little more relaxed and didn’t feel the need to pee at every driveway corner. For the record, the peeing wasn’t anxiety, that was just me telling the neighbourhood I was back.
Our ten minutes rather conveniently takes us just past the dog bin down the lane. As long as I remember to go on the way out it means Mum can put the bag in the bin and doesn’t have to carry it home.
As long as I get on ok with the nurse today we’re going to walk a little further this afternoon.
The patio is finished
At long last the patio is finished. Today Mum will add the rest of the soil to the wall and then can start planting it. I think she’s worked out how she wants to put plants around the outside of the wall too, so she’s going to be busy. At least she will be doing something that is going to feel like real progress and that will cheer her up. It also means we can start sitting out there and that will be enjoyable too.
Love
Wilma
