Some relief – Friday 24th January 2025

Some relief

I’m pleased to say that I’m already getting some relief for my poorly eyes. The ointment seems to be doing something and I really am very grateful. Obviously not so grateful that I’m making it easy for Mum to put the ointment in my eyes, but I wouldn’t be me if I simply sat meekly waiting. To be fair we are getting through this a little easier than we have in the past. Sit and stay are commands I’m pretty good at. Now I just need to get the hang of not turning my head away at the last moment so that Mum misses my eye. We have come to an arrangement over treats. As long as the ointment goes in my eye then I get a treat. It is having an effect on my willingness to cooperate.

Learning to cook

Yesterday was the first time that Pebbles was allowed to stay in the kitchen while Mum was cooking. You would think now she’s growing up that she might have been paying attention. She was instead running laps of the kitchen around the island in the middle and Mum was having to avoid treading on her. At one point, Pebbles tried to pull Mum’s jumper off the chair. As the whole chair fell over and scared Pebbles she concluded she might leave Mum’s jumper alone – for which Mum is grateful.

Shadow’s cow

Pebbles has been raiding the toy box again. This time she has found Shadow’s old cow toy. It has been through the wash so probably doesn’t smell much of Shadow anymore, which seems a shame. Pebbles really likes it. She uses Aristotle’s old squirrel as a pillow in her pen, but she was happy to throw cow around the kitchen – much to Mum’s frustration. It’s really hard to work on cooking lunch when a cow flies across the kitchen and hits you.

Love and woofs
