Voluntary visit to the vet
Pebbles had a voluntary visit to the vet yesterday. Voluntary! Can you actually believe it? Mum had to call in to collect some more medication for me and told Pebbles it would be a good opportunity for her to get used to visiting. Mum also wanted to weigh Pebbles and, even though we have some good puppy scales, Pebbles has reached the limit of their size. Of course, Pebbles being the dog she is, she found the scales way too exciting and didn’t want to sit with all four legs on at the same time. Bribery and coercion worked in the end and she weighed in at 12.7kg.
The racecourse
On their way back, Mum took Pebbles for a small detour to the racecourse. Obviously, they didn’t walk the two mile circuit that I normally do. Pebbles is still only going for short walks. It was a good opportunity for her to see different things and be around other dogs – except the weather was bad and they didn’t see any other dogs. She walked on sand and coir matting for the first time, as well as meeting a wheelchair and a couple of pushchairs. What was funny was having her tell me about it as though I’d never been there. That’s kids for you.
Playing
Yesterday I did something I haven’t done for a very long time. I was in the kitchen and the cow toy was there. I thought it couldn’t do any harm just to pick it up and give it a bit of a shake. The weird thing was that I found I quite enjoyed it. Maybe pebbles can do me some good after all. I’m not going to get carried away, but I might just have another little play when no one’s looking.
Love and woofs
