Doorbells
Doorbells and dogs are a well known combination. For the last few months we have not had a working doorbell. On the upside, we haven’t had the excuse to bark madly when Mum already knows there’s someone there. On the downside, Mum hasn’t always known there is someone there. To me, that just proves the point of why we need to bark. Apparently, to Mum the point is that she needs a doorbell and for us to remain silent. I’m pleased to say we restored our barking yesterday as the new doorbell now works. It’s one of those clever ones that alerts Mum’s phone. She had to choose the ring tone she wanted and would you believe that one of the options was ‘barking dogs’? Oddly, she didn’t choose that one.
Family argument
Pebbles and I are in the throes of a family argument. There is an Entlebucher walk on Sunday and only one of us can go. Unfortunately Dad is away and as I don’t want anything to do with Pebbles it is a bit of a problem for Mum to take us both. I should take priority as I’m the eldest. Mum pointed out that at the moment with my eyes bad I’m not actually enjoying the company of other dogs, so it’s silly of me to fight for my right to go.
On the other paw, the walk is too long for Pebbles to do. Mum had planned to take her stroller and for Pebbles to walk for a while and then go in the stroller. The problem with that plan is that without Dad there is no one to push the stroller. Back to my suggestion that I go.
The other problem is that Mum doesn’t like leaving Pebbles that long. Any other of us would happily sit in the car and wait. Pebbles screams blue murder to get attention. That will leave some innocent passerby thinking she is in distress and breaking into Mum’s car to rescue her. At that point Pebbles will be smiling happily and bounce all over them in delight. The one who wouldn’t be delighted would be Mum – so that’s out as well.
I think we might just draw chews. The one that pulls out the longest chew can go on the walk.
Love and woofs
