Water Baby
Pebbles is a water baby. Wherever she goes and finds water she just goes straight in. She seems to love splashing about, which I have never really done. We often get asked if Entlebuchers like water. Over the years Mum says she’s had ones of us who cover all ends of the spectrum. Alfie hated water with a passion. He was actually scared of it I think. He not only walked around puddles but when he went on a boating holiday, he wouldn’t get on the boat if he could see the water he was crossing. The rest of us have been somewhere between that extreme and Pebbles. Mum says she will get out the paddling pool and see what Pebbles makes of that. Of course, the biggest risk is that she will simply jump in the pond, but I don’t think Mum has really thought about that yet.

Another funny thing
There is another funny thing about Pebbles and water. Pebbles likes to pee where she feels in her ‘safe’ zone. She will go in the garden at home, but rarely goes when on a walk. She will poo while she’s out, but that’s because she knows Mum will pick up after her. Where she is staying for her holiday there is a little paddock behind the guest house and she thinks that is fine, but doesn’t like to go while she’s out – with one exception.
Sunday she was happy to pee while standing in Derwent Water. Yesterday she was in the water at Watendlath and didn’t mind going there. Mum thinks it’s something to do with the fact her scent can’t be followed in water and she feels safe. Pebbles has no idea why that is what she’s happy with. I’m pleased to say she did have a drink before peeing, rather than after.
Not overdoing it
Mum is being careful to make sure that Pebbles isn’t doing too much. Fortunately Mum likes fairly gentle walking, so that’s what Pebbles is doing. She is having a couple of walks a day but never too far. I think she’s enjoying it so far.
Love and woofs

What a lovely and heart-warming post! ?? Alfie’s adventures always bring a smile to my face, and it’s wonderful to see how much he enjoys the water! ?? The way you capture his personality through your writing makes it feel like we’re right there with him, splashing around. It’s so inspiring to see dogs living their best lives and embracing their favourite activities. Thank you for sharing these special moments—your blog is such a joy to read! Looking forward to more of Alfie’s adventures.
Thank you. Although as I’m sure you realise, Pebbles is a girl.
Best wishes
Wilma
