The garden
Mum has given me a free paw to run in the garden this week for the first time. It’s amazing. I just love all the sticks I can find. Apparently, until last week we had a dead wood hedge between us and the sheep. I think it was to stop them staring at us. It’s funny, but I can see the sheep so much better now the hedge has gone.

I found the pond for the first time yesterday. It wasn’t lost, it’s just that I didn’t know it was a pond. I only went as far as getting my front paws wet before Mum called me to come to her. She says it’s a good job I’ve been doing extra training as I did come when called. After that, I went to have another look and have been trying to decide which is the best point to jump in from. Mum has asked me not to, but if nothing else our breed is stubborn.
I wonder if my toy turtle would like the pond. Mum says I can’t take it outside to find out. She is such a spoilsport.
Wilma
Mum says I have to tell you about Wilma. I’m sulking as I’m not allowed in to see her. Apparently it upsets her too much. How ungrateful. Anyway, she’s stable, according to Mum. Taking all her medication – you should see the spreadsheet Mum’s created. Wilma is getting so many biscuit rewards! Her eyes are an auto-immune condition, according to her specialist – but I have no idea what that means.
Following in Aristotle’s pawsteps
Mum said I’m following in Aristotle’s pawsteps in the garden. He didn’t go in the pond, but he did help with all the planting. I had my head over the side of the vegetable trough watching Mum’s every movement. I so wanted to help her dig. Then she put the parsnip seeds in and I was told off when I asked what they taste like. Apparently I have to wait for them to grow.
Mum worried when I kept going in the greenhouse. I was only checking on the squash plants and the dahlias. I didn’t nibble any – Mum called me out of there before I had chance.
