A better day
Pebbles had a better day at training yesterday. Mum says that should all be in capitals. Last week was a nightmare to put it mildly. Yesterday, whilst there was still a lot of room for improvement, pebbles at least did all the same exercises as the other dogs in roughly the same way. She needed rather more treats and the treats were things that the other dogs rarely get given, but Mum has reached the point of doing whatever it takes to get Pebbles on the same page as the other dogs.

Choosing treats
Mum chooses treats according the exercise. It takes cheese to get Pebbles to walk around another dog and ignore them. The same is true if the other dog is walking around her. Mum moved down to liver, sprats and salmon pate for the other exercises. It was the first time that Pebbles had done much of a stay in an open field with other distractions around. Mum was very happy indeed.
Mum felt a very tiny glimmer of hope that they might eventually move up to the next class. She doesn’t want to seem too ambitious too soon, but just maybe it will happen eventually.
Weigh in
Pebbles also has her first weigh in for a long time. It was funny as being weighed is something she has definitely got the hang of and she sat beautifully in the middle of the scales so Mum could get an accurate reading. Pebbles now weighs 21.2kg. She is beautifully slim and in proportion. I’m really jealous of how she only eats what she needs and doesn’t feel the need to binge. I’ve had a lifelong battle with my eating. Pebbles really doesn’t know how lucky she is. Maybe that will all change when she gets older. I seem to remember I was slimmer once.
