I’m glad I’m here

I’m glad I’m here and not there. Sometimes, when things go wrong, as a dog your job is to provide a support service. Other times, it is far safer to stay a long way away. Today falls into the second category. Mum has hired a marquee. It was supposed to come yesterday, but sadly their van broke down. They are doing their best, so no complaints, but it means it’s coming early this morning instead. This morning is going to be chaotic to put it mildly and Mum won’t be able to do things in quite the order she had in mind. She’s not good when that happens.

The cake

On the bright side, her birthday cake was delivered yesterday and did fit in the fridge. However, it is very heavy and Mum is very clumsy. She has no idea how she’s going to get it from the fridge to the table it needs to go on, without dropping it. Being a dog, if she does drop it I could at least have been on paw to lick it up. Although this is likely to be one of those times I’d be expected to obey the ‘leave it’ command. They really are such a joy killer. Even Pebbles is learning ‘leave it’. Usually Mum says it with such strength that it would take a braver dog than me to ignore it.

Garden games

I think it’s best that Pebbles is not there for the garden games. Hook a duck just sounds like too much of a temptation to a young dog. I don’t think Pebbles would really mind that they were made of plastic rather than feathers, she’d still run off with them without a moment’s hesitation. All going to prove that she is in fact a braver dog than I am!

Love and licks
