Squeezing jelly
Getting to grips with Pebbles is like squeezing jelly. Just as you think you have made huge progress in some areas she suddenly starts struggling with something else. She is crying every time Mum puts her in her crate. Until a couple of days ago she loved her crate. Now that she has a little more freedom she has decided she doesn’t want to go in it. She still loves her outdoor pen. It’s just her crate she’s fallen out with. Because Pebbles and I don’t get on, Mum tries to split her time evenly between us. I still have free run of the house when Mum and Pebbles are in the garden and when Mum goes out, so I don’t really mind. Pebbles has realised she wants to be with Mum all the time. And she isn’t taking no for an answer.
Back to basics
Mum is thinking of going back to basics with her. She is giving her a Kong when she needs to settle in her crate and has asked Pebbles if she would like her crate moving back into the bedroom. Pebbles has said no, but she may just be being contrary. If I’m being honest I don’t think even Pebbles knows what she wants.
She’s shedding really badly at the moment. It’s weird. None of us have shed that much except when we’re coming into season, but she only had a season three months ago, so it’s just odd. If she was hormonal it might explain her behaviour a little. Maybe she’s just excited about the birthday party.
My check up
My check up went really well. The eye that was operated on has a tear rate of around 12 after a minute, but show me some food and it hits 15 in seconds. Mum is going to put some ointment into my eye before bed so that it doesn’t feel dry whilst I’m sleeping rather than eating. The right one is doing well on the eye drops so that will just continue. I shall have another check up in 6 months.
