Checking the weather
We have reached that point in the year where we’re checking the weather every day. Obviously, Mum checks to find when we are going to have gaps in the rain so that Pebbles can have her walks in the dry. We also check for times it will be enjoyable to do some gardening together. However, the most important thing at this time of year is to check when we need to bring the lemons indoors. This year’s ‘operation drizzle’ won’t take as much planning as last year. Last year, the lemons moved into the greenhouse for a period first. This year Mum isn’t going to do that. She is going for a one stop strategy of them coming straight into the lounge when it looks as though it is going to be too cold outside.
I’ve checked back to the photos and we managed to get to the middles of November last year. Mum is hoping to get at least that far, but she isn’t taking any chances.
The birthday girl
Pebbles had a lovely birthday. She really likes her new collar with Swiss flags on it, so that’s good news. She had a lovely walk with Mum too. They met people and dogs and Pebbles behaved herself very well all things considered. Pebbles said the only thing that would have made her birthday better would have been if Dad had been at home, but he did ring her and wished her happy birthday, so he hadn’t forgotten her.

For treats on walks, Pebbles has been working her way through the leftover cheese from Mum’s birthday party. Mum froze it at the time and has been taking it out of the freezer piece by piece. Pebbles says that it might be very nice cheese, but she will be very happy to get back to Emmental once it’s all gone. Mum is still working her way through the cake – she will be very sorry when all of that has gone.

Love and licks
