Shugborough Estate
“Do you want to come to the Shugborough Estate with us, Wilma?”
“What’s the weather forecast?”
“I haven’t looked.”
“I’ll come if I have to and as long as it’s going to be dry and only if Pebbles isn’t coming.”
That was how the conversation went between me and Mum yesterday morning. To be fair, I did have a lovely afternoon out and really enjoyed myself. However, we arrived to a total cloud burst and there was just no way I was prepared to get out of the car in that.
A lovely walk
Thankfully the rain stopped. Mum had arranged to meet up with Otto and Logan for a walk, and fortunately I got on quite well with them. Otto is this year’s winner of the Club’s Alfie Dog trophy. It is awarded for a dog’s contribution to the breed in the year. He has done some amazing work in the show ring with his human, and has even been placed against other dogs in the working group stage.

After Mum had taken Otto’s picture with the trophy, we had a nice gentle walk around the grounds. The paths were good and I have to say it wasn’t too busy. We saw a few dogs and I felt the need to give serious warning barks to make sure they didn’t come near me, but it wasn’t too bad and I quite liked having the boys there.

The weather
I slept all the way home and it wasn’t too bad a journey. Fortunately, we’d got into the house and Mum had taken Pebbles out before the heavens opened again. I do not need to be outdoors in hail. Frankly, I don’t need rain, but hail is absolutely out. By then, I was curled up fast asleep for the rest of the afternoon.

Love and licks
Wilma
