Training was fun
Training was fun yesterday. I flipped between being outstanding and a pain in the butt, according to Mum. Mostly I was a good girl. At least in my opinion. We started with some really easy stuff. I’m supposed to look at Mum when she says my name and for that I get a piece of cheese. Hey, if Mum has cheese, I don’t take my eyes off her! Then we did some walking at heel. Again – there was cheese. What’s not to like? I trotted along beautifully and was rewarded as planned.
It’s the fun stuff where I really engage. Being sent around a cone is fun. Don’t ask me why, but it’s way better than all that ‘stay’ and ‘wait’. Then we had to go around a cone and then sit inside a ring. Again, fun and easy when I know I’m going to get cheese.
Photographs
When we have special occasions our trainers always come up with fun ideas for photos. Last year when Mum tried to get a Halloween photo with me, I bulldozed the set up they’d created. Yes, I was in trouble – big time. This year, the trainer knowing what I used to be like, said I didn’t have to take part if I didn’t want to. That was all it needed. I thought ‘I’ll show her’ and promptly sat beautifully in exactly the right places, doing better than any of the other dogs.

It took a bit longer to get me to sit nicely in the skeleton bones because Ernie was before me and he’d peed on the tibia. I wouldn’t sit until I’d checked out how Ernie was. He’s changed food and feeling much better for it.

Mum would have been able to come home saying what a good girl I was, if the horse wearing the blanket hadn’t shown up. Ok, so I slightly lost the plot and decided to repeatedly body slam Mum. Thankfully it was the end of the lesson so we were able to come home.
