Crawling through mud – Wednesday 12th November 2025

Crawling through mud

Pebbles spent yesterday morning crawling through mud. It was her training class and she will insist on doing commando crawl. We think it’s because she’s excited rather than just attention seeking. Yesterday, despite the field being wet and muddy, there was Pebbles crawling across to see each of her friends. Her best friends are Maggie and Dexter. Mum says it’s hilarious when she sees Maggie as they are both equally excited but show it in very different ways. One of Mum’s biggest worries is that one of them will get hurt they way they get tangled up in their leads.

Back

Pebbles also started to learning to go backwards. Mum has been trying to teach her that, but with little success. The trainer showed them all how to do it and Pebbles managed a little way as intended. It’s going to need quite a bit of work for her to master it, but it’s a start. It’s good because Mum has been trying to teach her a little dance routine and she wants Pebbles to walk backwards as part of that.

Pebbles did manage some better loose lead walking and almost managed a wait to go through a gate. It wasn’t up to exam standard, but better than she has been doing. They were doing some work with a box, putting first front paws on, then back paws only then all paws. Pebbles can totally ace that as she does it in play at home.

On standby

We’re on standby to move the lemons. Mum is watching the temperatures day by day now. She thinks we will be moving them on Saturday, but it may be later. She has cleared the lounge floor where they need to stand. All we need now is for her to remember where she put the wheels she needs to use to bring them up the two steps. Fortunately where they stand is only a few metres from the lounge, so it shouldn’t be too hard to do.

Love and licks
