Unexpected consequences
There are unexpected consequences of cutting the hedges back further than they have been cut for a while. Yesterday, some lovely men helped Mum finish this year’s hedge cutting. They did an excellent job and did exactly what Mum needed doing. She doesn’t have the tools to be able to cut it back as far as it needed to go. That’s how it got out of hand in the first place.
There is just one small problem if you cut a hedge back quite hard – you find out where the gaps are! Mum makes it her job to find the holes before Pebbles does. Frankly, my days of finding the holes are well and truly in the past, but Pebbles would give Houdini a run for his money.
Fixing the problem
Then we moved into the fixing the problem phase of the day. It’s amazing what can be cobbled together with some wood, some wire, and a lot of imagination. Now we’ve got our paws crossed that between Mum and the gardeners they have come up with good enough solutions to stop Pebbles from visiting next door. Things will improve in the spring as the hedge all starts to grow again. The hope is that some of it will grow around the fixes and make a much better barricade. I’ll keep you posted.
My hydrotherapy
My hydrotherapy didn’t go as well as usual. I was a bit out of sorts and not as well coordinated as usual. I was puffing a little bit as I worked, but not because the treadmill was hard work, more because my whole day was hard work. Then I thought the door had been opened for me to get out and I walked straight into the glass. To be honest, I was pleased to come home.
