Well we didn’t expect that
Well we didn’t expect that. When Mum found some chairs she had stored in the garage had gone mouldy, she put it down to the wet weather. Then she realised there was a puddle on the garage floor in an odd place. To begin with, Mum assumed water was getting under the door of the garage and had spoken to the builder about putting a rubber strip on the door to stop it. If only life were that simple.
A little bit of investigation led to the realisation the water was not coming from the door. To cut a long story short, the builder spotted a drip on the inside of the roof. Then both he and Mum started looking very carefully. Our lovely new garage needs to be reroofed. The problem is much bigger than just a drip and is not just one small part of the garage. You can’t imagine how unhappy Mum is about it. She has totally gone off getting up early and the prospect of having to do that while that much work is done is not a good starting point.
On the bright side
On the bright side, yesterday was lovely and sunny and feeling that amount of warmth on my fur made me really believe that spring can’t be too far away. Of course, the garden is completely waterlogged and I keep treading mud into the house. (That was especially annoying as Dad had just washed the floor). But the sun had some warmth in it and that made me a happy dog.
I was also happy, as Mum and Dad have friends staying and they had raclette last night with both cheese and strips of steak and Mum saved me some of both. What more could a girl ask for? Ok, a waterproof roof on the garage – but you can’t have everything.
Love and licks
