Lying in the sun – Wednesday 25th February 2026

Lying in the sun

I spent some of yesterday just lying in the sun, soaking up the rays and the vitamin D. What a glorious day. Pebbles and I drew straws as to who would help Mum with the grass cutting. Pebbles won and I felt disappointed. I was worried that by the time I went out the weather would have changed. As it was, I think I got the best of the deal. Pebbles spent her time running around, carrying Hoppig, chasing her tail – the usual stuff. She even went to get her boomer ball out of her little house in her pen and played with that like the wild child she is. She wasn’t shut in her pen, but still likes to go and play there sometimes.

Excess energy

Once she had run off some of her excess energy I risked going outside. By then, Mum had finished mowing and wanted to go into the railway room to do some bits and pieces. She asked me to join her but I declined. I found a sunny spot where I could keep her in view and lay down on the newly mown grass. Mum was able to leave the door open, so I could go in if I changed my mind. I liked that and it made it possible for Mum to do a little glueing too.

It probably won’t have done my arthritis much good, lying on damp grass, but I did enjoy it very much.

One of the reasons I was outside is that I don’t actually like it in the railway room. Mum is feeling quite sad about it. She’s asked me what I don’t like and I don’t actually know. I think it was because she was hammering and then dropping the metal allen key she was using. She’s stopped doing those things now, so perhaps I should try again.

Love and licks
