Change of Plan
We have a change of plan. Poor old Mum has to have two teeth out tomorrow and some other work done at the dentist too. It’s a long story, but her dentist is in York where we used to live, so it will be a long day in the car. Mum rang to tell us that she has arranged for us to stay here until she picks us up on the way home on Wednesday.
Obviously, I’d rather be going home but I guess it’s unavoidable. I did ask why Dad couldn’t look after us, but the dentist has suggested Mum might need a driver, rather than being on her own. The worrying bit is of course how hot it will be when they pick us up. The car is air conditioned and Mum has said we will go the route that is tree-lined, even though it’s longer – just in case. Dad would be there too if anything does go wrong, so we’ll just have to hope the precautions aren’t needed.
Red warning
We seem to have moved up a level to a red warning for heat. That really can’t be good. It’s going to mean staying indoors a lot, which is hard work with Pebbles. She’s probably as well off here in kennels as she would be at home. On the bright side, it does justify me asking for frozen Kongs at regular intervals, so it’s not all bad.
I don’t suppose Mum is going to be doing much gardening until it cools down again, but she did say she’d had some ideas and needed to do some measuring up. I have no idea what she has in mind. It’s bound to be something wacky.
I’m off to find a cool spot to snooze the day away until I can go home.
Love and licks
