The best laid plans
Never mind mice and men, the best laid plans of Mum and dogs don’t always work out. Mum worked out the best route home and saved it to her phone. When the time came to pick us up, Mum selected the route and her phone chose a completely different one. The phone insisted that Mum must really want to go on the motorways – she didn’t. Fortunately Dad was there too. While Mum drove, Dad tried to work out what had been in Mum’s head. To be fair that is never easy at the best of times.
Country lanes
We ended up on some narrow country lanes. That wasn’t a big problem, until there was an accident completely blocking the route and we had to turn around. By this time Dad was saying ‘I don’t know why we couldn’t just have gone on the motorway’ and if I’m being honest, I was thinking much the same thing.
None of it was helped by Pebbles already being hyper when she got into the car. Nor was it good that she had been rolling in poo. The car stank. Mum was complaining and she was in the front. I was right next to Pebbles.
Home at last
On the plus side we did eventually get home and we were all pleased to get indoors. Oh, except Pebbles who still wants to be outdoors despite the heat. Mum only let her have a really good length of time outside once the heat of the sun was off the garden.
I think it’s going to be a long few days. On the bright side, I’m being given a little more freedom. Now I just need to remember to be sensible and see how I go. Once again, paws crossed.
Love and licks
